    Movie Premier Fundraiser

    Cheryl Morrish's Checklist

    1. Speak to your local cinema to book one theatre out for your group. Particular films may need permissions from the distributor but your local theatre will guide you in this.  Read PPA's fundraising guidelines.

    2. Get a local radio station on side so they can advertise it on the airwaves for you.

    3. You either use the cinema's tickets or make some up yourself.

4.Work out what the cinema will charge you, and hopefully that will be discounted. Add a few dollars on for profit and that will be the price of your movie ticket.

    5. Create a flyer and have them posted around everywhere.

    6. Make a list of everyone you know, whether it be Mrs Brown up the street or Mrs White you havent seen for a few years. They all get a flyer and an invitation to join you.

    7. You have a lucky door prize and around perhaps 3 raffle prizes. These are drawn at the beginning of the evening when you are welcoming everybody to the cinema and thanking them for supporting PPA.

Prizes need to be only small gifts e.g. PPA pens can be part of that - just add a couple of notepads, movie vouchers, dinner voucher. Or seek sponsors to donate prizes. Contact PPA as we may have some small prizes in our collection waiting for a suitable event. Ask Cheryl any questions.

    8. Some people do provide wine/cheese/ or coffee & cake but that is an added expense you may feel that you don't need.

    9. Take some photos of the event to send to the local media if they cannot be present and to PPA.

    10. Once the people have seen the movie, they leave. Make sure you are at the front door when the movie is finished to thank them for coming along.

NB. The hardest bit is getting people there but if you have good contacts and make personal approaches, you will easily fill the cinema.
